Miscreants have vandalized Mary statue of Madhidgha Shibpur Catholic Church in Sadar upazila. At the time, they removed two books, including the Bible.

On Monday morning, the locals brought the police to the police station after they found them lying under a cliff hut on the side of the church. At the same time, two books, including the Bible, were recovered from a nearby pond.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Abul Hasnat, and Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mashiur Rahman, recovered the statue from the spot and took it to the police station after receiving the news.

Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moshiur Rahman and the owner of the adjacent Catholic Church in the village of Majdigha, Surmani Mardi said that after reading the idol lying around the house leaving the chaos at 9am on Monday, others were told to leave. Meanwhile, a person named Azimuddin found two books including the Bible while going to fish in a pond near the church and told the locals. Later on 12:00 pm, police rushed to the police station and recovered the broken statues and biblical books and brought them to the police station.
